CHECK RECOGNITION STATUS OF COURSES / UNIVERSITIES / INSTITUTES / COLLEGES IN MALDIVES AND OTHER COUNTRIES

 

SERVICE DESCRIPTION

Citizens who are planning to do higher education or training (in Maldives and other countries) can check the recognition level of the courses / universities / institutes / colleges they wish to attend from the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA). The following describes the procedure.

CRITERIA/PRE-REQUISITES
  • Not applicable.
PROCEDURE
  1. Submit the filled application form with all the required documents listed in the form to the service counter.
  2. Once the document is reviewed and completed, the date and time to collect the college approval document will be informed.
  3. Collect the MQA response from the service counter on the date and time informed.

 

DOCUMENTS AND FORMS REQUIRED
  • Filled University / College / Institute and Course Approval form (229 KB,)
  • Secondary School Certificates and Higher Education Certificates (original and copy)
  • Placement letter (If placement letter is issued) (copy).
  • Entry criteria and the duration of the course (original).
  • Course structure (original).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • MQA recognition of overseas  institutions / colleges / universities is based on the following criteria.
    • Qualifications are recognized and accepted by MQA only if the institute studying and institutions awarding are government registered and governemnt accredited institutions within the country of origin.
    • Course of study should meet the standards and minimum criteria set by the Maldives National Qualifications Framework (MNQF).
  • MQA do not recognize the following qualifications
    • General school, secondary school and higher secondary school (grades 1-12) qualifications.
    • Foundation course certifIicates.
    • Licenses.
  • All nursing courses require recognition from Maldives Nursing Council/Ministry of Health and Family.
  • All medicine related courses require recognition from Maldives Medical Council/Ministry of Health and Family
