CHANGE ‘B’ OR ‘C’ ZONE LICENSE TO ‘A’ ZONE LICENSE

|
Land vehicle drivers who have ‘B’ or ‘C’ zone license are required to change the license to an ‘A’ zone license in order to drive land vehicle in Male’ and nearby islands. This service is available from the Transport Division under Ministry of Housing, Transport and Environment. The following describes the procedure.

Service available: 08:00 am to 04:00 pm, working days.
Average time for service: 4 (four) days
Number of visits required: 3 (three)

CRITERIA/PRE-REQUISITES |
|
|
· Should have passed in theory test for obtaining the “A” zone license.
· Should have ‘B’ or ‘C’ zone license book.
|

|
PROCEDURE |
|
|
1. Take a token number and when your number is displayed, submit the filled application form with the necessary documents (listed in “Documents and Forms required”) to the service counter of Transport Division.
2. Make the payment and obtain the payment receipt. (The date and time to receive ‘A’ zone license card will be stated in the payment receipt).
3. Go to the service counter on the date and time specified on the payment receipt(after taking a token number) provide the payment receipt (issued previously) and obtain the “A” zone license card after filling the rout slip provided by the counter.

· ‘B’ or ‘C’ zone license is taken to drive land vehicles in the specified Atolls.
