OBTAIN A CRIMINAL RECORD REPORT

SERVICE DESCRIPTION

Criminal record report is a document issued by Maldives Police Service (MPS) for Maldivian Nationals who are applying for employment (in government or private sector) stating his/ her criminal records. The following describes the procedure.

Service available:                   08:30am to 14:00pm, working days.

Average time for service:        20 (twenty) minutes

No. of visits required:              1 (one)


CRITERIA/PRE-REQUISITES
  • Not applicable.
PROCEDURE

From Male’:

  1. Submit the filled Criminal Record Report form given by the employer with the necessary documents (listed in “Documents and Forms required”) to Maldives Police Service Headquarters in Male’
  2. If there is no issue, the Criminal Record Report will be given to you immediately.
  3. If there is an issue, MPS will inform the date and time to collect the criminal record report.
  4.  Go to the MPS on the date and time informed and submit your National Identity Card (original) and obtain the criminal record report.

From Regional Police Stations:

  1. Submit the filled application form given by the employer with the necessary documents (listed in “Documents and Forms required”) to the Regional Police Stations in the atolls.
  2. If there is an issue, MPS will inform the date and time to collect the criminal record report.
  3. Go to the MPS on the date and time informed and submit your National Identity Card (original) and obtain the criminal record report.


DOCUMENTS AND FORMS REQUIRED
  • National Identity Card (Original).
  • Criminal record report form.
  • National Identity Card of the person attending on your behalf (original).
FEE
  • This service is for free.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Should obtain the criminal record report from the respective police station where you have submitted it.
  • If someone else is going on your behalf to collect the Criminal Record Report that person has to bring his/ her National Identity Card as well as yours.
